Zoe's new outfit.

Hi everyone! This is Zoe.
This is an older picture.
I was waiting for summer in my new outfit.
Maman bought it from Build a Bear. It was only $7.00!
I also had an ice cream and a pop.
We have now had nearly 6 weeks of fun summer time!
Love from Zoe.

This is Violet.
She belongs to Tante Marie S.
Isn't this a beautiful picture?
The picture is by Tante Marie S too.
We all just love it!
Happy Easter, dear Violet!

A most scrumptious Valentine dress!

Tante Andrea made this dress.
She took this photograph.
Isn't this dress scrumptious?
We here at the Bleu Manoir really do think so.
Dear Maman.
Please make us all a dress just like this.
Some could even be pink.
Merci Beacoup!
Love from Zoe

It's autumn!

This is me. Zoe in the garden.
This picture was taken last year.
The pumpkins are beginning to come out in the stores now.
Maybe Maman will buy some more this year.
I love pumpkins!
I wonder where that dress went. It must be in my trunk.
Maman is neglecting us. She has bought another Big Girl.
This Girl is Very Big. Her name is Ruthie.
Love from Zoe.

A spring picnic!

Yvette Marie and me are having a picnic.
Look at my lily white legs.
This place is not like Florida at all!
But today was warm and sunny so Maman took us to the Fraser River.
We had a yummy lunch.

Do you see our yummy food?
The daisies were very pretty.
This is a beautiful place.
It's called Foreshore Park. Isn't that a weird name for a lovely park?
It doesn't have four shores. It only has one.
Love from Zoe.
PS: It was so much fun to get out of the house!

The circus is coming to town!

The girls are soooo excited!
Zoe and Yvette Marie have been practising secretly for weeks!
Yesterday the Grand Event happened; the Circus came to town!
The other residents of the Bleu Manoir were thrilled to see posters about the circus near the Bleu Manoir.
The First Act was performed in front of a breathless audience.
Real lions and tigers, oh my!

Zoe seemed made for the job in her darling clown outfit.
She even had a special leash for her tiger.
Everyone was amazed and applauded wildly when Zoe lead the fierce beasts off stage.
The audience cheered and whistled when Yvette Marie appeared onstage, in a daring pink satin outfit, showing her shapely arms and legs.
After balancing on the tight rope for a glorious 5 minutes, she lightly dropped back down to earth, and performed with her black elephant; the mighty Esmerelda!

Everyone stamped and whistled loudly as the show came to an end.
It was a spectacular performance.

The crowd of girls surged forwards after the show in order to get closer to the mighty beasts.
Amazingly the animals were all tame and allowed the girls to touch them.

It had been one of the happiest days so far in the Bleu Manoir country.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Dear Maman has finally gotten into the Swing of Things.
She's had a dreadful month full of Migraines.
We're so happy she felt much better this weekend.
She made a cute dress for me yesterday.
It took her 3 hours. I modelled it all over the house.
Here I am sitting outside on a lovely park bench given to us by Tante Julie MT.
Maman made the lovely Halloween mural on Friday.
She seems to really like Halloween but not the spooky gory part of it.

Today was such a beautiful day.
Yvette Marie woke us all up and after church we went on a picnic lunch in the country.
Tante Leona's horse and buggy are getting used a lot!
Do you like our picnic baskets?
Here we are without our masks.
They were too hot and sweaty.

Happy Halloween, everyone!
Do you see our witch dollies?
Hugs and kisses from Zoe.

A day in the country

Zoe and her sisters had been invited to a hayride in the country.
Tante Christine had sent out the invitation, but because of the exciting package in the mail, Yvette Marie and Helena didn't care to go. Besides, their gingham dresses were still in pieces in the sewing room.
So Zoe put on a special little play outfit which Maman had bought at a store downtown, for only $1.00.
She grabbed her red shoes, and her new red wagon.
Her little teddy bear came with for the ride.
It was a lovely autumn day, and the leaves were blowing down everywhere, making a very pretty path to walk on. Before reaching Farmer Maxwell's farm, Zoe loaded up her wagon with pumpkins (to take back to Yvette Marie so she could turn them into pies) and played with her teddy bear in the leaves.
Zoe loved the adventure of being all alone!

Our treasure chest adventure

We went on an adventure yesterday afternoon.
It was a Boiling Hot Day.
It was nearly 35 C which is 100 F.
That is very hot!
We took our new boat.
Maman helped us. A big wave nearly washed us away!
I fell backwards in the boat and my braid got wet.
Maman finished my bathing suit yesterday.
She had a Migraine because it's too hot.
She sewed very slowly but she got it done.
Here Zoe and I are getting the boat docked before it washes away. Right away Zoe found a lump in the sand.
The sand was quite hot but we started to dig.
The lump felt very hard.
I thought it was a big shell.
Zoe thought it might be a treasure chest.
Look! Zoe was right!
The wooden chest was filled with rubies and emeralds and gold beads.
We were so suprised! Maman said we could keep them.
We need to clean them up first. They are very dusty.
I guess they are from a pirate's ship!
A long time ago there used to be smugglers along the BC coast.

Zoe and I were so tired after our rowing and digging.
We rested by the water and shared a picnic lunch.
I love my new bathing suit!

Zoe's fire truck

Maman bought me this fire truck and I tried it out right away.
It works really well.
I love to ride in it each day.
We're having a HOT summer here in Vancouver where we live.
Maman said that July was the hotest July ever.
We only had a thimbleful of rain.
I am very happy this summer. I love to play outside each day.
Love from Zoe

Zoe's Adventure on an Island

It's me Zoe who is typing now.
This is me when I got to Vancouver Island.
We went for a walk along the beach.
Maman said this is Bazan Bay.
It was lots of fun and this was after the fun ferry ride.
Maman bought me some pretty shells on the ferry to share with Yvette Marie.
She didn't come with because Maman says it's too hard to take care of 2 Bleuettes at once.
I don't think we're too much trouble.
Maman brought the piece of driftwood home for our garden.
It was just my size!

The next day we went to a beautiful place.
It was just like Heaven must be!
It's called the Butchart Gardens.
Here I am with Maman holding me and Grand-maman and Grand-papa beside us.
I got to have High Tea in the lovely dining room.
It was scrumptious.
We walked for a long time in the pretty gardens.
We were here for 4 hours. I'm kissing a frog for the you know what.
But I didn't see one.
It's just so lovely here.

This is the sunken garden.
This is the Italian Garden.
I did so wish Yvette Marie could be here too.
She loves gardening.

It was a wonderful holiday. Maman says she could live here and I could too.
Papa said it was too cold for him. We think it was just perfect!

When Zoe first came to Maman's House

It's my turn to type.
I'm Zoe.
I came with Pere Noel last year to Maman's house.
It was December 23 and nearly Christmas Day!
Someone was already living in the Big Girl's House on the window seat.
She was all alone and so lonesome. Of course that's my sister Yvette Marie.
But I didn't know that then.
My first Maman was Marcie who lives far away in Florida.
Maman Marcie decided that Yvette Marie was just too lonesome here in Canada.
She asked all my sisters and me who would like to come here to live.
I put up my hand because I do like adventures!
So when Pere Noel stopped by I hopped in his big bag on his sleigh.
I was so happy to be with Yvette Marie. She was wearing a new red dress and hat made by Tante Sarah Jean who lives in another part of Canada.

I also got a new dress and new shoes and socks and a hair ribbon.
Maman made my red Allure dress for a December Challenge.
It's very pretty and I can hardly wait to wear it again.

Here is Maman holding both of us.
Christmas 2009 seems like a very, very long time ago.
I've had so many fun times since then.
I'm glad I got to tell you all about how I came here.
It was so kind of Maman Marcie to send me here, and my Maman still hasn't gotten over it.
Hugs and things from Zoe.
