The winner of the "Find Marielle Contest" is Tante INGRID!

Robinette and Phoebe helped draw the winner for the "Find Marielle" contest.
It is Tante Ingrid!
There were 18 Mamans who entered the drawing.
It was a lot of fun. Some of them did not see Marielle right away so she was hidden well.
Tante Isabelle was the very first one who spotted her so she has the most observant eye!
Merci beaucoup to everyone for playing our hide and seek game.
We do love games.

A Parisian quiz for you from Marielle!

While in Paris last weekend, Marielle discovered a wonderful shopping plaza!
She just "loves this place"!
Apparently she found some lovely perfume to bring home and is having it shipped to the Bleu Manoir.
She thought it would be FUN to hide in the shopping plaza, and so if you can spot her in the photo below, and email me at dragonfly3@telus.net as to her whereabouts, I will enter your name into a draw for a special Parisian treat for your Bleuette doll.
The drawing will take place on Friday, April 12, 2013.
To enter you MUST be a current member of the Bleuette Sewing Club online.
This is just some added fun to our current challenge; April in Paris.

Have fun!

More pictures of Paris!

I was in Strasbourg for only one night before I hurried away to Paris.
This was because of the Poupee sale at the Musee de Poupee.
Maman has wanted to visit this museum but a long time ago in 2007 she and Papa could not find it.
No one knew where it was when they got to Paris. They did not know the name.
But I did! It was such fun to look at all the dolls for sale.

I would really like this poupee! Isn't she sweet?

After the museum I took the tour bus. Here is another picture of the Eiffel Tower.
I am very tired. I came back to Strasbourg on the train late on Sunday night.
It is raining right now and it is making me very sleepy.
I will turn off the lights after I drink my hot cocoa and go to sleep.
Tomorrow I must shop for my folk costume.
Bonne nuit! Marielle xo

Pictures from Marielle in France!

Bonjour everyone!
That is the first word I learned how to say in French.
Here I am in Paris. I was there on the weekend.
It is so exciting here and so much to see and do all at once!
This is the lovely spring coat and hat Maman made for me.
It is a light blue knit wool.
The pattern used is GL 1948 Pratique. Tante Christine Bridy gave it to us.

This is my B & B in Strasbourg, Alsace!
It is so lovely here.
I will show a picture of my room before I leave on Wednesday.

This is a very famous place in Paris.

This was a lot of fun! I really like the Eiffel Tower!
I didn't go to the top. I am too scared.

I took a peek in here on Sunday morning.
I think I spotted Evie's pink hat and braids.
She is here too!
I will post more later.
I wish you were all here too. L'amour de Marielle

We got this e-newsletter from Marielle today!
She was chosen by Maman to visit France for April.
Marielle will be visiting PARIS next week!
Here is what she wrote.

It all sounds so interesting, doesn't it?
I hope Marielle finds something nice for us!

Meet Fiona Barbi!

This is Fiona Barbi!
She is a very special Rosette doll, made and painted by Tante Barbi Kantor Goldenberg.
Maman really admires her painting on the faces of these Rosettes.
Tante Barbi was the first person to make this reproduction mold for Rosette, Bleuette's Big Sister.
Maman had emailed Tante Barbi in December 2011 about buying one of these lovely Rosettes but then Tante Barbi became very ill and she passed away and can't make any more of her lovely dolls.
Maman was so very sad. But then Tante Ren emailed her in January 2013 and said she had a Rosette to sell. Maman sewed her fingers nearly to the bone to save up enough money to buy her.
And here she is!

Maman made her a pretty Easter dress this week.
The delicious candies and container are from Maman's friend, Tante Linda.

Here is Fiona Barbi in her new Shamrock dress.
She arrived at our home on March 9, 2013.

We think she will love living here at the Bleu Manoir.

Our happy St. Patrick's Day!

St. Patrick's Day was on March 17. That was nearly two weeks ago.
Maman took these photos a long time ago but she has been very busy sewing.
She was sewing for the Big Girls and then she has made two dresses for a new Big Sister.
We do not know quite what to make of that!
But in this photo we are amazed at the pot of gold we found in our Bleu Manoir back yard.

Maman made the two dresses on the right. Tante Georgia made the knitted dress.

We love having our clothes changed twice so far this year.
We are in a THEME for each season and it is fun!
Did you have a nice St. Patrick's Day?
Love from Yvette Marie and all the sisters.
