When Yvette Marie first came to Maman's House

Here I am my very first day in Canada!
This was May 21, 2009.
I arrived in my petticoat so Maman added some roses at the waist.
I also needed new unders and she made those for me too, before making my first outfit.
Look below for that.
I love this outfit! It's a Marin Outfit and the pattern was Free from the BSC.
There was a fun Challenge going on at the time.
Maman remembered how to make pleats.
She also created my red sandals.
My maker is Connie Zink. I'm a SFBJ 301 reproduction, with a Global Composite body made in Germany. My first Maman was Jill. She sold me to my present Maman for $185. I'm wearing a mohair wig.
I love living in Canada. I live near the Pacific Ocean and it is so pretty here.
I was lonely until Zoe came here too. I'll let her tell about that story in the next post.

Our favourite Bleuette websites

Here's a picture of Zoe helping Maman with my first Communion dress in June for the Challenge. Every 2 months all the Mamans have a race to see who can sew the fastest. It's lots of fun especially for us Bleuettes!
I think it's time to tell you all about our favourite websites about Bleuette. Some are also about dolls or sewing but mostly about us of course.
First there's our favourite from Tante Martha:
Then there's the House of Missy Mouse where Tante Melissa makes such nice things. Maman doesn't know how she does it!
Then we can't forget the Bleu Door which is my favourite of all.
This place is a pattern heaven and best of all the patterns are free!
You just need to know French is all.
Deb's Dollies has a funny story about a headless Bleuette.
I think I'll stop now. I'm going to go and read about Deb's Dollies now. I didn't see that one before. It looks fun!
See you tomorrow!

Summer bathing suits

We forgot to post yesterday. That's because something called Humidity hit us all really hard.
We didn't feel like porcelain dolls...we felt more like rag dolls!
We're not used to that feeling and we don't like it much.
Anyhow that's me, Yvette Marie, in the picture above.
Maman made this play suit for me with the matching sand pail. The suit is called Barboteuse.
This was last summer.
Here is Zoe in a 1933 LSDS bathing suit. Maman likes to try out all the different fashions from all the different years. We think it's fun too. She is working on a matching bathing suit for me too.

Welcome to the Bleu Manoir!

We're so happy you found our new blog!
Maman said we could post here each day.
The picture above shows Zoe on the left and me on the right.
I am a brunette SFBJ 301 model handmade by Connie Zink.
My body is a Global composite made in Germany.
Maman bought me last year and I arrived in her home on May 21, 2009.
Zoe is very special.
She came at Christmas time last year. She was a gift from Tante Marcie.
Zoe is made by Candy Anderson and she is a model 251.
Bleuette dolls were always made in France many, many years ago.
The first ones were made in 1905 and little girls got one for free when their Mamans subscribed to a magazine called La Semaine de Suzette.
Now all those dolls are very expensive to buy, but Maman isn't interested in them.
She is only interested in us!
If you come back each day you can read more about us.
See you tomorrow!
Love from Yvette Marie
