Our Christmas gift from Maman!

The BSC sewing challenge for this month is "Annabelle Book" items.
Maman has the "A is for Annabelle" book by Tasha Tudor.
The pictures are very pretty.
We all are great fans of Tasha!
Tante Martha made a big quilt for her one time.
It was a whole cloth Welsh quilted quilt.
So Tante Martha designed a Bleuette size one for this challenge.
Maman worked very hard on our quilt.
She began the embroidery in November.
She worked it in red.
We think it is very pretty!

Maman decided to make a matching pillow.
She used red fabric and embroidered with white thread.

It looks like a Christmas quilt!
Merci beacoup, cher Maman!
Love from Yvette Marie and all the rest.

The pretty snow!

It snowed for 12 hours today, December 19, 2012.
It began in the middle of the night.
We were allowed out on the balcony to look at it.
We still don't own boots.
Isn't it pretty?

We live in Canada but it doesn't always snow here in Vancouver.
We get lots of rain because we are part of a rain forest.
We love it when it snows!

Ellowyne and Emily above wished to show off their pretty Christmas dresses without any cloaks or coats. They were brave.

A lovely Christmas dress!

This beautiful picture and the gorgeous dress are by Tante Andrea.
The dress is exquisitely pretty because it is so simple, both in the design and the fabric.
Oh Maman!
I do wish you could sew all of us a Christmas dress just like this.

A Bleuette Maman Dies

We heard some sad news today.
Tante Barbi Kantor-Goldenberg died yesterday.
She made all these beautiful dolls.
Her picture is at the bottom of them all.
Maman is very sad that she is gone. She had wanted to buy a Rosette from her last year.
But it wasn't to be. So please enjoy looking at these photos while you remember Tante Barbi.

We are all ready for Halloween!
Maman spruced up these pretty Halloween postcards she found online.
We decided to share some with you.
Maybe you can save them to your computer and print them off for decorations for your own manoir!
We like this yellow dress with the kitty cat decorations.
House of Missy Mouse has a tutorial to show you how you can make a dress like this too!
We really want the tablecloth!

Here is dear Maman reading a spooky novel 100 years ago.
Tee hee...

We really like these two cards of the little witch.
We think she looks like a Bleuette!

This is Maman's favourite because the little dog looks like Kelsie.
We hope you liked the cards.
Hugs from Helena.

Getting ready for Halloween!

We are getting ready for Halloween!
It is the day after tomorrow.
It is very wet and cold outside.
The leaves are falling.

Robinette and I are making a craft.
Maman bought it from the dollar store.

Zoe is filling the container for the trick or treaters.

Look what we are making!
She is nearly finished.

Robinette wants to know what in the world I have done to the little witch!
(I am pressing her down so her glue will dry!)

Maman has made Robinette a new apron for the BSC October challenge.
It is from 1912 and it is # 33.

Here is a side view of the apron.
I need a new apron too.
Maman is working on another idea.

My trip to an island!

On Monday October 1st I did an exciting thing.
I traveled with Maman to Vancouver Island on a huge ferry.
I was packed safely in Maman's luggage so I couldn't see anything.
There were lots and lots of people on the ferry.
We sailed on "The Spirit of British Columbia".
It cost only $15 for Maman to go as a walk on. No one noticed two dolls in her luggage.
Ruthie came with me.
She is an American Girl doll.

Maman made the dress I am wearing for Yvette Marie but I borrowed it.
I like this dress a lot.
I am on Maman's desk at St John's House looking at a pretty passion flower.
Sarah Jean picked it from a vine in the front yard.
She is Maman's sewing friend.

Maman made me a pretty pair of underpanties and a pretty petticoat.
I was so happy.

This is where Maman and I stayed for 4 nights.
It was a very nice room.
You can see me laying down on the desk. Maman did hand sewing here.
She also made me a new plaid dress.

Ruthie and Alexi climbed big rocks in the back yard.
I wasn't allowed.
It was too dangerous.
Maman made Ruthie a pair of jeans.
Sarah Jean made all the rest. She is very talented.

We found a big bright pumpkin patch!
It was like summer on the Island.
I liked it a lot.

On Thursday we went to a pretty beach at Cordova Bay.

I typed a bit on Maman's iPad. Maman bought me a cute puppet.
I loved this place.

This is the ferry we rode on. Maman took this picture on the return trip.
Isn't this a pretty place?

This is Sarah Jean's very nice sewing room.
She and Maman sewed here every single day and sometimes at night too.

Here is Maman about to sew Ruthie's jeans.
She made Ruthie's new skirt too.
Maman was so relaxed she didn't get any migraines.
I am glad.

Here is Sarah Jean having tea on the patio.
Norman the seagull is on the cross in the background.
If you click on all the pictures you will see things better.
It was a very fun holiday!
Merci beacoup, Sarah Jean!
Your friend....Robinette!

Mad about plaid!

I don't have a name yet.
But I do have a new dress!
Isn't it pretty?
It's the 1907 G-L school smock.
If you want to make one too, you can find a free pattern for this dress in the BSC files.
Oh. Do you know what BSC is?
It's a really nice Bleuette group online for Bleuette and her Maman.
It means: Bleuette Sewing Club.
My Maman has been a member for 3 years now.
Each month we have a sewing challenge.
September 2012 is Tante Laurie's turn and she chose plaid for the challenge.
I love my dress!
You can learn about the BSC HERE.

School clothes for Rosette!

This is Justine wearing a very pretty school dress!
I love the colours in the plaid skirt.
Justine belongs to Tante Donna N, and she took this picture.

Rosebud belongs to Tante Cindy and she took this picture.
I love her school desk.
Maman has finished one plaid dress for one of us, but she needs to take a picture.
We all love school!

Our 150th post!

This very lovely picture was taken by Tante Connie.
She has a FaceBook page that is very nice.
It's called Land of Oz Dolls.
Maman likes to look at it.
I really, really want that outfit the Bleuette is wearing on the left.
I really, really like it!
This is our 150th post!!!!
To celebrate, we will give a gift  for the first one who comments today.
They will get a special Fall treat in the mail.
If no one comments, I will get to keep it!

A lovely Dutch dress

This is pretty Amelie who lives with Tante Becca.
Tante Becca took this picture.
Maman really likes it because it is Dutch.
It also has a windmill and she loves windmills!
Someone named Bluebird made the lovely dress and hat.
I would love a Dutch outfit too.

This is Teddy in his new green car.
We think he is very nice.
We haven't met him yet.
He lives far away and lives with Tante Andrea.
She took this picture.
The girls visiting Teddy live with Tante Becca.
Maman has bought many nice things from Tante Becca.
We have furnished the Bleu Manoir with the nice things.

School time?

This very spiffy school outfit was made by Tante Nedra.
Chantal is the one wearing it.
The picture is by her Maman, Carolyn.
Isn't this a really nice picture?
I love the school bag!

A new BSC challenge!

Isn't this a very pretty page of paper dolls?
They are very old.
Tante Melissa has a new challenge at BSC.
All the Mamans are supposed to try to make a Lettie Lane paper doll pattern for their own Bleuettes.
There is one problem with this challenge for Maman.
She finds it really hard to create patterns.
But she might try this for baby Bambino. He has been without any new clothes for a whole year now.
Maybe he will turn into a little girl. Tee hee...

Here are some more things for Bambino.
I think I will print these out and cut them out.
We all love paper dolls at the Bleu Manoir!
Love from Robinette.

Pouting prize!

We had LOTS of fun with the pouting challenge!
Maman decided to have a prize.
She put all the names in a basket.
Tante Leona who lives here too drew a name.
The winner is:
Tante Annick!
I am sure her girls will love this fabric.
I would like a new dress from it too.
Tante Annick also gets lots of clothespins.
Maybe her girls will hang their clothes outside and save energy.
We hang out clothes out when it is sunny.
Congratulations Tante Annick!
Love from Robinette.
